There is a Red vinyl version of Jefferson Starship’s “Red Octopus” I’ve been searching out for over three decades now. I know it exists because when I was like 8 years old, the neighbor who lived up the street had a red vinyl pressing of this title. I use to play with his little brother and he would always mess with his parents console stereo when they where gone and this was one of the albums he would play. I remember it fondly as it was one of the first colored vinyl Lps I’d ever seen. I’ve searched many Vinyl Conventions and other sources and I can’t find it or information about this album. Some dealers don’t believe it truly exists, but I do have a saved photo from Amazon where they where selling a shadow box and it had the Red Octopus Sleeve and the vinyl pictured in the photo.I contacted the seller and she sent me the photos she had, but it was a third party seller. I can’t read the writing on the labels. In order to start to see the catalog number it starts to get out of focus. I had this same issue with an orange copy of Breakfeast in America I purchased at a Convention and it came out of Australia on Festival Records. It finally showed up here on Discogs as a ligitimate release.
