This DVD contains footage which documents the second part of Manfred Mann's career which so far has lasted over 35 years with his Earth Band. The band was formed in 1971 after the huge success of the 60s Manfred Mann pop group (1963-1969). The Earth Band soon followed their predecessors back into the charts with hits like Blinded by the light, Joybringer and Davy's on the road again.For this DVD we have scoured the vaults of TV stations worldwide, in many cases to find material originally recorded by the band themselves but thought lost in the now infamous fire at The Workhouse.
As an example a number of the 1980s promo files used on the DVD were found in Australian Broadcasting Company's archive. Closer to home, the cartoons included will be recalled by many fans from the live sets in the late 1970s and early 1980s. These films were located in Manfred's present studio and transferred to digital format for this time for this project.
This collection of hits and Earth Band favourites spans almost the full history of the Earth Band and illustrates the changes of personnel and direction the band have undertaken, and serves as a reminder and celebration of one of the rock world's all-time greats.
