Recorded on December 22, 1967 at the Van Gelder Studio, Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey.Four page colour insert/booklet with additional fold-out sheet with liner notes in Japanese on one side, a facsimile of the original back cover on the other.
Note: This is Jackie McLean's last recording for Blue Note and it is as fresh, creative and exciting as the first one that he did 9 years before. With a quintet that includes Woody Shaw, who contributed two tunes, and Jack De Johnette, who was the second great drummer that McLean gave to the jazz world after Tony Williams, Jackie left Blue Note with one of his finest efforts.
